We’re excited to bring Lyniate CONNECT back in person this year to meetup and learn face-to-face in Frisco, Texas, October 24-28, 2022. Lyniate product, services, and executive teams will share development schedules for the Lyniate Interoperability Suite while customer presentations will dive into topics like migrating to the cloud, working with APIs, new product features, and the changing interoperability landscape. Call for presentations

Lyniate CONNECT is seeking customer speaker proposals for this year’s conference. All proposals are due by September 23, 2022.  Speakers will be notified no later than October 3, 2022, if their presentation has been accepted. We are looking for solo presenters and panel participants. Please indicate your preference when submitting.

Our conference theme is Healthy Data. Healthy People. Please consider incorporating the theme when submitting a proposal.

Pre-conference training

Experience Lyniate solution training offered exclusively during Lyniate CONNECT conferences. The following training courses will be offered in-person October 24-25th in Frisco, Texas.

Corepoint Level 3: Integration Engine Training

Level 3 will be offered in person October 24-25, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM CDT as part of this year’s Lyniate CONNECT conference in Frisco, TX. This class focuses on optimizing your interfaces, processes, workflows, and environment. This two-day, in-person, instructor-led class is only offered once a year, coinciding with the annual conference. Additional registration and fee required.

Rhapsody Optimization and Using APIs

The Rhapsody Optimization and Using APIs course will be offered in person October 24-25, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM CDT as part of this year’s Lyniate CONNECT conference in Frisco, TX. This instructor-led course is designed for those wanting to learn best practices for optimizing their Rhapsody engine and gain a better understanding of FHIR and API integration. Additional registration and fee required.

Tanner began working on Cerner’s Millennium EMR in late 2018 when he was hired by Cerner as a technical solution analyst on the emergency medicine team. After a year on the team, he was promoted to system engineer on the foreign system interfaces java team. This is where his work on interfaces began. Tanner worked on the FSI Java team for a year and a half before transitioning to the North Kansas City Hospital integration team as a senior integration analyst. After a quick introduction to Corepoint, he was off building his own interfaces. Tanner is married with one 10-year-old kid.

Kim began her career in healthcare in 1990 after receiving her BA in Education and a Networking Administration degree from Bloomsburg University. She recently completed her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management degree at the University of Scranton. Initially involved in patient billing, she assumed a management role and continued as IT Director and IT Performance Improvement manager for 18 years at Shamokin Area Community Hospital. During her tenure there, Kim oversaw the transition from handwritten medical records to a complete electronic health record system. Kim joined Geisinger in 2010 and has been a crucial part of Keystone Health Information Exchange (KeyHIE) since its inception in 2005. She spearheaded the first hospital connection to KeyHIE by connecting Shamokin Area Community Hospital. Under Kim’s leadership, KeyHIE participation has grown by nearly 1,450%. Kim continues to not only oversee KeyHIE operations, but also the Geisinger Systems Integration team and External Customer Relations (Life Image). Additionally, Kim has been charged with spearheading implementation of a Salesforce customer relationship management solution for the OneGeisinger digital transformation initiative, which seeks to deploy a comprehensive and cohesive digital experience for Geisinger patients. Kim continues to lead Geisinger’s interoperability efforts to ensure robust information sharing capabilities throughout the healthcare community. Kim also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Scranton, teaching Healthcare IT. She recently retired as Head Coach for the Southern Columbia girls’ basketball team after serving for 39 years, and still enjoys exercising and staying fit. In her free time, Kim enjoys spending time with her three children and pursuing a variety of outdoor activities.

Dr. Huang has been the Director and Health Authority for the Dallas County Health and Human Services Department since February 2019. Prior to this he served as Medical Director and Health Authority for the Austin Public Health Department, and as Chief of the Bureau of Chronic Disease & Tobacco Prevention at the Texas Department of State Health Services. He received his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Rice University, his MD from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and his Master’s in Public Health from Harvard. While at Harvard he led the successful movement to have Harvard divest of their tobacco stocks. Dr. Huang completed his residency training in Family Medicine at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin and was Chief Resident during his final year. He served two years as an Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officer with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention assigned to the Illinois Department of Public Health where he conducted epidemiologic studies in chronic disease and infectious disease outbreak investigations. Dr. Huang is the current President of the Texas Association of County and City Health Officials, and he is on the Executive Board of the National Association of County and City Health Officials. He was recently recognized by D Magazine, Best of Big D as “Best Public Official” for 2021. Dr. Huang is an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the University of Texas School of Public Health, and he served as an Assistant Professor with the University of Texas at Austin, Dell Medical School. For the past 16 years, he worked in customer support helping start the best in KLAS support for 13 consecutive years. He created and architected the training curriculum for the first versions of the Level 1-3 classes for the Corepoint Integration Engine and has been a remote, in-person, and on-site instructor for the engine level courses for the last 13 years. Enjoying the in-person experience, he moved to professional services traveling the globe to assist with interface creation and optimization. Along with EHR go lives, custom training, and many other projects, Alex has the most experience converting legacy engines to the Corepoint Integration Engine. He has worn many hats figuratively and literally and enjoys all the different challenges and creative solutions healthcare has to offer. Michael began working on Cerner’s Millennium EMR in 1999 when Cerner ran on Windows 95 and it was necessary to use a dial-up modem to connect for off hours support. Since then, he's worked on almost every part of Cerner, but keeps coming back to interfaces. He has worked at many different hospital and done a number of consulting gigs. For most of his career, he avoided most engine work and did all his scripting in Cerner’s OpenEngine. When he joined the team at North Kansas City Hospital, he was introduced to Lyniate Corepoint. After a 20 minute tutorial from the integration team, he was off coding his own interfaces on the first day. When he called support for the first time and a real person answered AND they knew what they were talking about, he knew he found true love with Corepoint.

Naresh Sundar Rajan, MS, Ph.D., is a Chief Data Officer at CyncHealth based out of Nebraska and Iowa. Dr. Rajan has worked with the public health, state-wide health information exchanges, and research communities on data democratization, analytics delivery, health data infrastructure and interoperability, patient matching, improving health data quality, and enhancing the health information exchange infrastructure by using open-source technologies. He currently leads CyncHealth Data and Analytics, focused on modernizing data strategy towards enhanced interoperable systems. Dr. Rajan serves as Chairperson of the Technical Architecture Subcommittee for Prescription Monitoring Information eXchange (PMIX) Standards Organization’s Technical Architecture Committee. He also serves in Community Advisory Board for the Great Plains IDeA Clinical and Translational Research. Dr. Rajan serves as HIE representative with Gravity Project for the development of social determinants of health standards. He also serves in Project US@ that aims at developing standards for United States address metadata for patient matching. Rajan leads ONC’s pilot project in U.S. standards for address matching to enhance open-source patient-matching algorithms and develop standard metrics to compare across multiple standards. Prior to CyncHealth, he worked for the State of Utah, developing an analytical infrastructure to disseminate prescriber practices information. Dr. Rajan led the analytics operation for Utah Department of Health Violence and Injury Prevention Program and served as a subject matter expert for Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Operations for the State of Utah. Dr. Rajan received his Ph.D. in Medical Informatics from the University of Utah. He also holds a master’s in Computer Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a bachelor’s in Bioinformatics

Sean Zitello comes from a galaxy far away… but not too far away. Mr. Zitello was the first director of the Co-Creation Lab at Lyniate, where bending iron and learning from customers was always at the top of the list. It was there he laid the foundation for discovering and demonstrating how to use Rhapsody with FHIR and APIs. That in turn has led to a continued evolution of workshops and classes for FHIR and API development. Prior to joining Lyniate, he was president of a consulting firm specializing in healthcare integration. When asked what he hopes students get from his classes, he replied, "confidence, competence and a few laughs. If we aren't having some fun in our jobs, then we probably aren't having enough fun in our lives".
